1. How long is the interior design process? Typically, full-service interior design services can take approximately 10-16 weeks. Depending on the project (custom furniture delivery times, renovations, furniture delivery dates), there are times when a full-service project can take over 12 months. By making decisions quickly and communicating effectively with your designer, you can help speed-up the process. For e-designs, it can typically take 2-4 weeks per room. 

2. How do I begin a project with Jay C. Lynn Interior Designs? You can begin the design process with us by scheduling a consultation. It is okay if you do not know exactly what service you'd like to retain. During the consultation, we will go over all of our services, your budget, your design style preferences, your spaces you would like to be designed, and more. 

3. What is a good budget for a room? During the consultation, we can discuss your desires for your space. Based on our discussion, we can give you a reasonable number of what your project (furniture, decor, renovations, etc.) could/would cost. Keep in mind, our budget minimums outlined in our "Services" section. At Jay C. Lynn Interior Designs, we strive to source quality furniture. As an interior design firm, we do not want to source items that will break within 1 to 2 years. We will work with you throughout the process to stay within a budget that is reasonable for your interior styling and design needs.

4. Can you use my existing furniture in the design? The short answer is, "It depends." We have been able to use clients' existing furniture/decor in many designs. However, there are times when the existing furniture will not reflect well within the new design and satisfy your overall design style and needs. Therefore, be open-minded about possibly selling or gifting old furniture. Hiring a designer/decorator is a luxury, and we want to make sure you get the best experience!

5. When should I reach out to an interior designer? Ideally, you should contact a designer the moment you are committed to changing your space or moving into a new space. Sometimes clients purchase new furniture, paint their home, etc. However, a short time after, they are not "sold" on their new choices. Reaching out to an interior designer at the outset can help prevent "buyers' remorse" and costly mistakes.
